Between the three of us we left there with two Celine scarves, Christian Dior scarf, silver pearl earrings, a pair of vintage Ray Bans and a pair of Christian Lacroix sunglasses, some vintage Marimekko clothes and designer shoes.
City breaks are always a good idea so we had one! Helsinki is a pretty cool city to hang out and it was especially interesting cause we got to do it with our favourite Finnish Fashionista Pia who really took us to the best places. Flea market at the back of Kaupa Halli is a really inspirational place and with some patience, good eye and a bit of luck you can come across some pearls (literally as well). Between the three of us we left there with two Celine scarves, Christian Dior scarf, silver pearl earrings, a pair of vintage Ray Bans and a pair of Christian Lacroix sunglasses, some vintage Marimekko clothes and designer shoes. Probably didn’t even list all the things here. Besides vintage we were impressed by the local designer’s creation as we probably visited all the main stores. Whenever in Helsinki you just have to visit Ivana Helsinki’s store as her designs are just amazing. Note the knitwear that Inguna is wearing – she couldn’t even wait to get home to wear it and had to leave it on in the store. There are couple of must go-see-try places for foodies as well… one is inside the Kaupa Halli (best burger ever) and if you are a fan of the Lebanese food then you should head to Levant which has the most authentic street food. Although, we couldn’t totally stay away from Aleksanteri street but we did discover many more places to go in Helsinki than our usual route. All in all, Helsinki as a city break destination is highly recommended.
